Commercial & Non-Commercial Use Notes
Use of a picture (in whole or as part of a composite image) by a commercial
business, non-profit group, or individual person is considered "commercial
use". This applies to web and print, including editorial use (such as a
newsletter, newspaper, magazine, book, or informational website). Internal
company use would also considered "commercial use".
By visiting this site you agree to the following terms; unauthorized use
will result in billing for triple the fair-market value plus damages and
legal fees.
Image format
Pictures are available as prints or as digital files. Contact Sandy
Schaeffer with your special needs.
Print Use Considerations
Most of the pictures on this site are reduced versions of pictures taken
with professional digital equipment. The photos will be generally high
resolution capable of being reproduced on magazine covers.
Advertising uses in brochures, catalogs, print ads, online sales
material, and the like requires permission from any recognizable people that
are non-public figues.
By comparison, "editorial use" refers to newspaper or magazine articles,
books, or online content which is primarily informational or entertaining
(like this website). This use does not require a property or model release.
If you wish to use a photo in an advertisement, you are responsible for
getting permission from the owners of any non-public property depicted that
is recognizable and prominent (e.g. taking up 1/3 of the image or more).
